Stevenson Overcomes Downers South

Stevenson gained revenge and then some Friday night.

Led by junior running back Kyle Brandt's three touchdowns, theNo. 8 Patriots dominated No. 4 Downers Grove South in every facet ofthe game for a 35-21 victory at Stevenson.

Brandt (15 carries, 110 yards) scored on runs of 13, 7 and 3yards and quarterback Ryan Keller threw a 34-yard touchdown pass toTariq Sadrud-Din for a momentum-swinging score that broke a 7-7 tiein the final minute of the first half.

Stevenson avenged a 19-14 loss to Downers Grove South in thesecond round of the state playoffs last season.
